Stone Releases Create with LinkBack!

Andrew put LinkBack into Create in record time (about 2 hours). Get Create and Chartsmith today and start using LinkBack in your own creations!

From the press release:

Create® 12.3.3 features LInkBack support: LinkBack is a powerful new technology that allows users to create graphics in Create®, paste them into another LinkBack application, and later call upon Create to re-edit those graphics with just a click. Because Create is both a LinkBack Server and a LinkBack client, you can also paste data from LinkBack enabled applications for page layout in Create, and then later re-edit those graphics in the original application. Grteat news Andy. I can’t wait to do the Chartsmith->Create->Keynote demo.

Looks like a great feature - esp when EquationEditor (and why not
EquationService) will support Linkback. However, I have problems
getting it to work, I installed it on two machines and in fails on both,
but differently. In each case I paste something from Create into
KN2 (with the plugin installed), and want to re-edit back the graphic
in Create. Then what happens is on

Machine 1: if Create is not open, it complains: Create not found. If Create is running, it opens a page with the graphic inserted, but modifying the graphic wouldn’t show in KN2 (unlike the demo movie).

Machine 2: No complaint if Create isn’t yet running. However, in any case only an empty Create window opens, with nothing therein to edit.

    Some installation problem ?

    WL,

You need to press save (Command-S) for the updates to appear in Keynote. I think there’s new API in LinkBack 103 for update intervals, but I haven’t looked into that yet. For the demo movies on the plugin site, I was hitting Command-S after every edit. You just can’t see my fingers in the videos. ;)

  4. WL Says:

Ah, that does it for Machine 1: - thanks ! Very cool.
