LinkBack is an open source framework for Mac OS X that helps developers integrate content from other applications into their own. A user can paste content from any LinkBack-enabled application into another and reopen that content later for editing with just a double-click. Changes will automatically appear in the original document again when you save.

If you are an end user, use LinkBack with any of the LinkBack-enabled applications available from some of your favorite software companies. If you are a developer, download the SDK to learn more about how easy it is to use LinkBack in your own application.

The latest version of Nisus Writer Express has been released. Now up to version 3.0, there are new features, many fixes, and crunchy Linkback goodness.

King Chung Huang has updated the popular Keynote LinkBack Plugin to work with Keynote 4. You can download the installer from here.

Nisus Software (that’s us!) has released Nisus Writer Pro v1.0. Among the many features of Pro is its chewy Linkback goodness.

Barcody 1.0, from the developers of iCalamus, is the first barcode generator which supports LinkBack.

Release is expected in July 2007.

iCalamus 1.0.9, a powerful DTP program, has been updated with LinkBack support.

I’ve been on the road the last month so I’m a little behind on my news but lots more LinkBack applications are coming online in the Mac world. Of course, Nisus Software recently released Nisus Writer Express 2.5. You can build your diagrams for your Nisus Writer documents, of course, using OmniGraffle 4.

BeLight Software has also released Image Tricks, freeware image software that lets combines LinkBack and Tiger’s new Core image technologies to help you prep your image work.

Omni just released the beta of OmniGraffle 4. Aside from its nifty new palette system, it also supports LinkBack. Get the beta here. Create some graphics and try pasting them into Stone Create or the latest preview release of Nisus Writer Express 2.5. Great work!
